Danaus Eco-Center is a preserve located 2 kilometers away from La Fortuna. Due to its location, and combination of life zones in a small area, this forest strip works as a great natural habitat for several species of animals. Is quite normal to spot birds, like toucans, mammals like sloths, and reptiles like iguanas or snakes, just to name a few.
The easy, wide, and well-kept trails allow us to explore this small, but abundant preserve, starting with the garden and crossing the butterfly farm, the small lagoon, and the secondary and primary forest, searching for knowledge, nature, and wildlife.
This walk is a perfect choice for nature lovers, seeking to spot wildlife in their natural environment in a short time. During the walk, you will also be informed about all the efforts done by Danaus Eco-Center by reproducing local species of trees and teaching youngsters and college students on different programs of conservation, biology, and natural history.
