Explore two of the best attractions in town.
We start this half-day tour with a visit to the Lava 1968 preserve, located next to the national park, in which we are taking a hike through the trails where we will be able to see old lava rocks formations, traces of the Arenal Volcano eruptions, great views of the volcano and the Lake Arenal. In the secondary forest segment, we will spot some wildlife present in the area, such as birds, small reptiles, and rodents.
After this very informative hiking, we head up to the Fortuna River Waterfall, a great 60-meter-high cascade worth the hike down on a paved trail with 530 steps, Good Cardio! This trail takes us to the base of the waterfall and to the river, where you can also have a relaxing time in the waters and admire all the nature that surrounds this magnificent cascade.
On our way back we take a delicious lunch, before heading up to the hotel. Enjoy.
A combination of good exercise with lots of information of the Arenal Volcano history, and its influence in the town of La Fortuna and its development. Great views, wildlife, and a refreshing stop at La Fortuna River Waterfall.
